Shane Ankeney, Motivational Speaker, Guillain Barre Survivor, went to bed one evening with a tingle in his fingers. He woke up the following morning paralyzed throughout about 50% of his body. Within a 24 hour period of time he was 100% paralyzed. He spent nearly a year and a half hospitalized, 3 months in and out of an induced coma, was on a ventilator due to respiratory failure over half a year, experienced multiple collapsed lungs, 3 months of an extreme fever due to the body losing its ability to control its temperature. Shane had to relearn everything from talking, to sitting up, to eating, to standing. He literally lost everything and even though he still suffers paralysis from the knees down and only has about half the function in his hands, he is designated to inspiring others, raising his kids, promoting awareness of the cause of his adventure and living life to the fullest. If you or anyone you care about could use a little inspiration to push forward in life, whether you're fighting a disability, battling depression, fighting an addiction, or just simply having a hard time with some of life's obstacles, then this is the right story to follow!
Music has played an important role in my life since I was a child. Being an avid guitar player and writer, music was always my medicine for any situation! Music has saved my life!
The pure power of laughter is phenomenal! Its amazing how any situation whether its happy, sad, or driven by anger, a good laugh can completely reset the entire mood! Laughter is a medicine for the soul and a reminder that we are simply living life and not a victim to it!
The word "love" gives the mind motivation! If you love someone, something, or even the idea of someone or something, let that love be the fuel, the pure energy to drive your integrity to reach success!! Loving a thought or a vision is a recipe for setting successful goals!!
The right timing and the right providers were a huge life saver in my adventure with GBS. I am very grateful for the medical professionals that played a role in my case! Thank You All!!
